Artistic vision
ephemeral objects is interested in the space between deep listening and the dance floor. Her practice moves through experimental electronics, ambient, dub, downtempo, bass, techno, drawn together by hypnotic repetition, deep low frequencies, textural sound design and a fascination with altered states of time.
While her sets can get playfully propulsive, she's equally interested in creating worlds that feel transportive, immersive, and heady. She approaches DJing as a form of worldbuilding: connecting sounds across eras, scenes and geographies creating unexpected relationships.
A deeply curious and community-minded music obsessive, ephemeral objects approaches electronic music with an anthropological sensibility: digging through Bandcamp, obscure corners of the internet, forgotten releases and emerging scenes for sounds that deserve to be heard. She is particularly drawn to overlooked artists and perspectives, and to the connections that emerge when sounds from different places and moments in time are brought into conversation.
About
ephemeral objects is a Chinese-Vietnamese-Canadian DJ, producer, VJ and multidisciplinary artist based in so-called Vancouver, BC. Her practice moves between sound and moving image, with a focus on texture, time and atmosphere. Her love of electronic music began in childhood, watching Electric Circus, MuchMusic's dance show, in the late '90s and early 2000s.
As a producer, she makes dreamy, ambient forward electronic music shaped by the hypnotism of techno, the depth of downtempo. Her music has been released on Wuji, SYS Sister Sounds, PPRZ and Bass Coast Music, with more on the way, including on Delusional Records.
As a DJ, she moves between ambient, downtempo, hypnotic techno, dub, bass and experimental electronics, building deep atmospheres and rolling rhythms. She has contributed mixes to Electric Shapes, Shy People and Distant Signals, has supported visionary artists including Legowelt and James K. She is a regular fixture in Vancouver's underground with recurring Resident Advisor picks, and BC festivals including Bass Coast and Margins of Sound Society.
She is one half of the audiovisual duo i+eo with IHA, whose live performance Portals premiered at MUTEK Montréal in 2025. She is part of the Naga collective and label, and co-hosts Acceleration Radio, an audio visual show on CFRO 100.5 FM.
She has guest curated for New Forms Festival (2025), Public Disco Festival (2026) and TAIWANfest (2026), and leads VJ and live A/V workshops for emerging artists. Her debut live set of original music, BRAIN BATH, takes place on October 30, 2026.
